North Shore, named after the geographic location of their hometown of Kenora on beautiful Lake of the Woods, prides themselves on energetic and spirited live performances. It’s this energy that they have managed to capture in their forthcoming album, A Blank Apology, to be released on 4/12/2019. North Shore guitarist extraordinaire, Cole Zabloski, describes the upcoming release as “our most musically diverse and lyrically honest effort to date.” This sentiment is echoed by vocalist Jordan McDonald who credits a challenge from Zabloski in driving the band’s songwriting in a more honest and transparent direction: “Cole came to me before we started writing for this record and told me that my best work has always come from a place of authenticity.” Rich Pernsky, the provider of the band’s bottom-end, agrees by calling A Blank Apology “an honest, collaborative effort that makes a great cross-section of who we are musically right now.” The first single from A Blank Apology, titled Flying Upward, is an upbeat track that McDonald says “is about feeling detached from reality and confused by modern slang and dance.” North Shore’s previous success includes releasing a full-length album Moments, and a Canadian tour, culminating in opening for Daughtry. In 2016, North Shore recorded their third release to date, Chasing Fireworks, which continues to receive radio support with singles Breathe For This and Space Rocks.
